Our Mission:
To ignite the potential of South Central Los Angeles youth by educating, mentoring, and empowering them to become fearless leaders and powerful voices for change. Through knowledge, resilience, and opportunity, we equip them to rise above challenges, transform their communities, and build a future filled with hope, success, and endless possibilities.

We are a grassroots 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Fremont HS Students and community. By promoting higher education, financial literacy, and wellness awareness, we aim to build a stronger, more resilient community.

Our youth face significant challenges:

• Poverty: Approximately 30% of residents in South Los Angeles live below the poverty line, which is double the rate of Los Angeles County as a whole.

  ​

• Single-Parent Households: A substantial number (74%) of youth in South Los Angeles are raised in single-parent homes, contributing to economic and social challenges.

  ​

• First-Generation College Students: Many of our scholars (87%) are the first in their families to pursue higher education, navigating uncharted territory without familial guidance.

  ​

These challenges are compounded by rising violence and crime, highlighting the urgent need for support and change. Together, we can shift the narrative of our community.

FHSAF is committed to collaborating with Fremont Alumni and South Los Angeles Alumni to foster a supportive community for fellow alumni, current students, and our neighbors. Your generosity has been instrumental in paving the way for our youth to achieve their dreams of higher education and a brighter future. Through your contributions, programs like the Pathfinder Educational Scholarship Program, the "Think Outside: Summer for Wellness" Summer Project, the Pathfinder Peer Mentoring Program, and the Pathfinder Alumni Youth Council have made a significant impact.  In addition, the educational workshops we offer to the alumni youth council continue to empower and equip them with the tools they need to succeed.
